Bolt Strikes Again with a Heroic Knight's Tale

British playwright and two-time Oscar-winning screenwriter Robert Bolt, known best for his classics, A Man For All Seasons, Lawrence of Arabia, and Dr. Zhivago strikes again with another charming tale written for BBC, The Thwarting of Baron Bolligrew. Best known for his witty dialogue paired with fantasy and satire, Bolt conjures up a beloved story that follows the main character, a softhearted knight, Sir Oblong Fitz Oblong, on his daunting quest to battle the bullies of the Bolligrew Isles.
Local theatre troupe Kaleidoscope Players brings this family-friendly play of good versus evil, traditionally performed annually in England during Christmas time, to the main stage of Shawnee Playhouse for two weekends in late March; bursting in like a lion, then out like a lamb.
As told by the Storyteller and an imaginative cast of Knights, a Wizard, thieving magpies, and an insatiable Dragon, this entertaining comedy is a delight for all ages, and is Rated G. Filled with plenty of comedy, "loose morals", mayhem and action, Bolligrew will leave you spellbound!
